Welcome

Welcome to the website of WSIS: Education family-taskforce on education, academia and research within the framework of the Civil Society contribution to the World Summit On the Information Society (WSIS) organized by the United Nations. The Working Group (WG) deals both with online shared Educational Content (e.g. OpenCourseWare) and with Research related to Education (Methodology, Media, Sociology, Psychology).

This site seeks to provide the following information related to the activities of the taskforce:
  • Information about the nature, principles, rationale and aims of the taskforce, as well as contact details.
  • Links to relevant documentation produced by the group, particularly current information (e.g. A Joint Statement from the Education, Academia and Research Taskforce and the Telecentres Caucus in pdf).
  • Inspiring examples of the work of taskforce stakeholders, reflecting the aims described in section 1 above.
  • Details of current events, including an archive of recent events and summaries of their outcomes.

Please note that the French and Spanish language sections of this website are still in the process of construction.
